Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to all flights with Geelong Helicopters. By purchasing a flight with us you agree to the following.

  1. Weight Restrictions apply to all flights. The helicopter manufacturer has set a limit on the overall takeoff weight for the helicopter, in addition we have an individual seat weight limit of 130 kg per passenger. Overall weight is dependant on many factors including weather, amount of fuel on board and pilot weight. If you are above the average weight please contact us to know the limitations of our helicopter.
  2. Bookings If a pre-paid flight is cancelled or postponed it will be converted to a gift certificate subject to our cancellation policy. Flights associated with a booking will only be flown with the passengers nominated on the booking. No name changes are allowed once a booking is confirmed. Geelong Helicopters requires passengers to provide weights for a booking, if a passenger is weighed on the day of the flight and their weight varies from the stated weight by more than 5%, their ticket is considered forfeit and will not be eligible for a refundor rebooking.
  3. Booking Postponement All requests to postpone a flight to another date or time must be made in writing by email to Geelong Helicopters at least 72 hours before the confirmed flight time and will be subject to approval of the company or one of its representatives. A $65 fee will apply to all re-bookings. The email for postponing or rescheduling a flight is info@geelonghelicopters.com.au. Phone calls and texts will needed to be followed up by an email.

Weather includes, but is not limited to; rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, gusty winds, reduced visibility due to rain, fog, smoke or haze and high temperatures. Our highest priority is the safety of our passengers. Please contact us to discuss further or to arrange other plans should your intended flight be affected by weather.
  7. Helicopter Serviceability Our helicopters are maintained to the highest possible standards by a CASA approved Maintenance Facility. There are instances where our helicopters are required for scheduled or unscheduled servicing and may not be available on your intended day of travel.
  8. Controlled Airspace From the Geelong Waterfont our helicopters operate in controlled airspace. Therefore we require a clearance from Air Traffic Control before we can take off and land. Although rare, Air Traffic Control may differ the flight path from what has being described or there may be delays.
  9. Minimum fare is equivalent to two adult passengers per flight. Gift certificates are available and sold for a single passenger, however on the day of flight the gift certificate holder will need to either pay the difference or bring someone else along to make up the difference to the minimum fare cost for that flight.
  10. Children Generally for a child to go on a flight, should be of a minimum of 3 years old and most importantly the shoulders need to reach on or above the line of the booster seat we use. Child's Fare is valid for any child aged up to and including 13 years old and is only applicable to the Corio Bay Fun Fly from the Geelong Waterfront.
  11. Gift Certificates are valid for a period of 6 months from date of issue. For a Gift Certificate to be redeemed, it must be presented on the day of the flight in digital or paper form. Gift certificates are not redeemable for cash and are not refundable. Gift certificates can be upgraded. If a gift certificate has been fraudulently changed or altered it will be deemed to be invalid. If you require a longer period of validity, we may be contacted prior to the expiry date for an extension. This must be done in writing to info@geelonghelicopters.com.au. If the gift voucher has expired and no extension was sought within the period of validity, the gift voucher will not be honoured.
  12. Special Offers Geelong Helicopters has from time to time a number of special offers. Please note that only one special offer can be used at any one time. Special offers which include additional items to the helicopter flight (i.e. souvenir caps, discount vouchers) must be collected on the day of flight from the departure point.
  13. Passenger Safety All passengers will be given a safety briefing before their flight. Geelong Helicopters reserves the right to cancel or terminate any flight if a passenger is deemed a threat to the safety of the aircraft or other passengers and crew. The passenger or passengers will forfeit their tickets and will not be entitled to a refund or rebooking.
  14. Departure Location If a flight is unavailable to be flown from its usual departure point, it may be moved to an alternate location. Passengers will be notified of any changes prior to their flight. Geelong Waterfront flights may be flown from Barwon Heads Airport. If the customer requires a flight to be flown from a particular location, a minimum number of flights may be required otherwise a helicopter relocation fee will apply.
